Professional Activities
In addition to my PhD thesis, I am involved in several other activities in my everyday work. They are listed below.
CTI Project
The Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) is a swiss organism that makes the connection between research and industry. I am currently involved in the development of a cost estimator program for Tekhne, a project management company working on the construction sector. This project uses CBR (Case Based Reasoning) and data mining. Code is written in VBA and Java.
Teaching Assistant
I am assistant for a computer science course given for civil engineering students. This course teaches computing as a science instead of a tool. The course include subjects such as complexity, databases, object oriented programming, optimization, decision support systems, case based reasoning, machine learning, etc. These concepts are introduced with the help of Java.
Student Projects
I am supervising an undergraduate student on a project combining civil engineering and computer science. The title of the project is: "Study and implementation of display for the lateral resistance of unreinforced masonry wall".
